There are so many on the market, though, that it’s hard to decide which is best for you. The MoneyMagpie team and product testers have put a bunch through their paces, to whittle down the list and find the best air fryers of 2024. Many of these models are currently on sale too – so if you know someone who has been intending to get on the air fryer train, now’s a good time to buy in time for Christmas.

Haier I-Master Series 5 Air Fryer 5L Single Basket (£149.99 currently £69)
A compact single basket air fryer, the Haier Air fryer is perfect for a single household or couple, with the 5 litre basket the perfect size for cooking a couple of portions.
The top buttons are digital LED, making it easy to see when switched on, and our product tester didn’t even need to read the manual to get started it was that easy! With several functions, including air fry, grill, roast, bake and even dehydrate and defrost, this is a truly multipurpose air fryer that combines several appliances into one. It’s compact size makes it perfect for small kitchens.
When running, you can hear a small noise just like you do with the fan in your oven, but it’s not disturbing at all. The air fryer will beep halfway through the set time to remind you to check on the cooking and shake the basket to avoid things sticking. Once the timer is done, it automatically shuts off, too – so there’s no burning when you forget your dinner!
Our product tester found the dishwasher safe basket made it super easy to clean, but did find using both silicone or greaseproof liners helped to make it easier to remove food from the deep basket when it’s done.

Ideal for a single person or couple, this is large enough to cook a couple of portions easily. The preset programmes made it easy to cook things like meat, fish, veggies, and chips – but our tester found it helpful that you can also set your own time and temperature. The cook is even, working well on everything from courgette fritters to frozen oven chips. It’s easy to clean, too – just wash the basket with hot soapy water and the outside can be wiped down with a cloth.
